The Padres and Delaware North invited me on a foodie tour of Petco Park, and these were some of my favorite stops.
If you’re heading to a Padres game and want a food plan before you get there, save a few of these. You don’t need to turn the whole day into a food tour. Pick the order you’re most excited about, then leave room for a second stop.
Seaside Market deserves two spots on the list
Seaside Market’s tri-tip nachos, made with Cardiff Crack tri-tip, were one of my picks. Their banana pudding was another favorite, so this stop covered both savory and sweet.
Lobster rolls, BBQ and fresh tortillas
The Baja Lobster Roll came from Santa Maria Grill at Pacifico on my tour. They were also cooking over a live wood fire, which stood out to me.
Puesto was another favorite, with corn tortillas made from scratch onsite. Grand Ole BBQ also made my list. There was plenty to choose from beyond the usual ballpark order.
For a current location update, the Padres’ official food guide lists Grand Ole BBQ at Section 113.
A spritz or a local beer
We stopped at Belle Glos Wine Market for a refreshing spritz. Craft Row was on the tour too, with San Diego breweries including Stone Brewing and Pizza Port.
Before you go
These picks are from my invited tour, so check the current food guide before you go. Menus and open vendors can vary by season or event. Plan your food stops around a ticketed game or event, rather than assuming the same concessions will be available on a stadium tour or a non-game day.
