A masquerade night 40 floors above San Diego Bay? This one feels straight out of Gossip Girl. π€ I had a chance to get a private preview of Masquerade After Dark at Top of the Hyatt, and it is such a fun excuse to dress up for a night out.
A moody October night above the bay
The October setup pairs masquerade decor with those sweeping bay views. The red-draped entrance makes a dramatic first impression, and the masks and dark feather details carry that mood into the evening. My photos show the contrast between the darker styling inside and the light coming through the windows.

If sunset views are part of your plan, arrive with time to enjoy the changing light. This is a first-come, first-served experience, so a particular table or window seat is not guaranteed.
The ube cocktail we loved
We loved the ube cocktail, which arrived with whipped cream and a chocolate bar. π« The purple drink looked so pretty against the bay. It was a highlight of the preview and the one I called out in my video.

There is also a sushi menu with rolls, nigiri and sashimi if you want to make more of an evening of it. The plate below gives you a look at the sushi from the preview.

Before you go
Masquerade After Dark runs October 2β31, 2026. The official seasonal listing gives regular hours of 4β11 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 9:30 p.m. The experience is for guests 21 and over, with no reservations.
For October 31, check the separate Halloween party details, since its hours differ. The venue advertises free parking with validation, so bring your parking ticket upstairs and confirm the applicable conditions.
The Halloween version ends in October. Beginning in November, the venue changes to A Very Merry Masquerade, so do not expect the same dark seasonal setup for a later visit.
