My mom gets the credit for this coffee find. Lovesong Coffee + Market in North Park is filled with plants, natural light and a little market where you can pick up snacks and drinks to take home. It’s such a cute spot for a catch-up with a friend.
The drink menu is a big part of the fun. There are house-made syrups, unexpected flavor combinations and enough matcha options to make choosing an order a whole moment.
A different kind of coffee order
Two drinks I highlighted were The Jack Johnson, with banana, maple, pink salt and coconut chips, and Salvage Sister, with caramelized fig, rosemary and smoked salt. Both are espresso-and-milk drinks listed on Lovesong’s official menu.
If your usual coffee order has been feeling a little repetitive, this is a place to browse the menu before deciding. There are fruity, herbal and sweet combinations rather than just the familiar syrup options.
The matcha choices are just as fun
Pool Party pairs mango and dark maple with matcha, while Bodhi Boy brings together lavender and vanilla. There’s also Maui Babe, with pineapple, coconut and rum-infused maple syrup.
Coconut cold foam and a salted coconut cream top are among the add-ons. Between the drink flavors and the toppings, you can see why I said choosing a drink was the hard part.
Stay for a little breakfast date
Lovesong also has pastries, breakfast sandwiches and chia bowls. If you’re skipping coffee and matcha, the menu includes house-made chai, teas and a sparkling mango soda too.
I’d make this a coffee-and-catch-up stop, then leave a little time to walk around North Park. You can browse the market while you’re there and grab something to take home.
Where to find it
Lovesong Coffee + Market is at 3022 North Park Way, San Diego, CA 92104. Check the current menu before you go, since seasonal drinks and availability can change.
If you like a creative coffee order and a bright, plant-filled space, this is one for your San Diego coffee rotation. Thanks for the find, Mom.
