I love the California burrito at Vega Restaurant Mexican & Seafood. If you’re looking for a Mexican food stop near Petco Park, this East Village spot is one to know about, with a big menu and a location right across from the ballpark.
The California burrito is my pick
The California burrito was the order I called out in my social post. But if you’re going with a group, there are plenty of other directions to take: carne asada fries, rolled tacos, birria, ceviche, aguachile and tortas were among the options I shared.
That mix of Mexican favorites and seafood is a reason to look beyond a single order. You can keep it simple with a burrito or browse the menu for something different.
A food stop in East Village
Vega’s official website highlights shrimp burritos, fish tacos and ceviche, and lists both downtown and Eastlake locations. The restaurant I featured is the downtown location at 202 Park Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101.
The location makes it an easy one to keep in mind when you’re already heading to the Petco Park area. I’d leave time for food before your plans rather than trying to squeeze in an order at the last minute.
