Disclosure: My padel lesson and meal were hosted as part of a creator collaboration.
A padel lesson and tacos at Puesto? That’s a San Diego outing I can get behind. 🎾🌮 I tried a lesson at Padel N9NE and had so much fun. I won’t be going pro anytime soon, but this would make a cute date night or girls’ night.

Trying padel at Padel N9NE
The court time was a chance to try something different together, and taking a lesson gave us a starting point. You don’t need to build the night around being good at a sport. Learning it can be the activity.
If you’re curious about trying it yourself, Padel N9NE offers beginner clinics, lessons and court bookings. Its official FAQ confirms that non-members can play and that rackets and balls are available to buy or rent. Wear athletic clothes and supportive court shoes, and check what equipment your chosen session includes.
Puesto makes it a food outing too
Puesto is beside the padel club at the campus’s Retail Paseo, so you can combine both stops without driving to a second neighborhood. The club’s campus guide lists Puesto among its neighboring dining options.
My food photo gives you a closer look at our table: tacos, tortilla chips and guacamole, with a bright drink alongside them. Keep it simple and choose the tacos and sides that sound good to your group.

How to plan your own visit
Start with the lesson or court booking. If you’re new, look for a beginner session rather than choosing an open-play group above your level. Check the session’s length, total cost and equipment details before booking.
Match the food stop to the restaurant’s hours. The courts and Puesto do not necessarily keep the same schedule. Confirm kitchen hours for your date before deciding whether to eat before or after playing, especially for an evening or weekend outing.
Leave time to arrive. Bring water and give yourself a little buffer to find the court and check in. You can keep the rest of the plan relaxed.
Where to go
This visit is at Padel N9NE’s Sorrento Valley location in San Diego Tech Center, not its San Marcos club. The official address is 9885 Scranton Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121.
Use the Sorrento Valley booking site for current sessions and availability. For Puesto’s latest updates, check @eatpuesto, and follow @padeln9ne for court-side happenings.
A little movement, a few laughs and tacos together. Save this one for the next time your group wants to do something besides the usual dinner plan.
