Our only regret at Fauna was not being able to eat more. That was my reaction when we visited and it’s still the clearest way to explain how much we loved the food.
Fauna is at Bruma in Valle de Guadalupe. The setting had a cowboy flair that made it feel completely different from an ordinary restaurant outing. The space gets your attention first, then the food becomes the reason you’re so glad you came.
If you’re planning a Valle trip around good food, I’d put this reservation near the top of your list.

Come hungry and settle in
Fauna’s cooking centers on regional ingredients and local producers, with dishes made for sharing. Chef David Castro Hussong and pastry chef Maribel Aldaco Silva lead the restaurant. It’s the kind of meal where it makes sense to talk through the menu together and ask the team what they recommend for your table.

The menu changes, so take a look at the current Fauna menu before your visit. There’s something fun about leaving a little room for whatever catches your eye when you arrive, rather than having every order decided in advance.
Give the meal its own afternoon
I’d choose the reservation first and build the rest of the day around it. A meal you’re this excited about deserves more than the gap between two wine tastings.
Leave enough time to get there, settle into the space and enjoy the food. If you’ll be drinking, arrange your return transportation ahead of time so that part is already taken care of.
Fauna is part of Bruma, but you can plan the restaurant visit separately from an overnight stay. Check the reservation details and let the team know about any dietary needs when booking.
Why it stayed with me
I loved the distinctive setting, but the food was what left us wishing we had more appetite. That combination is why Fauna made my Valle list.

Save it for a special meal, bring people you’d love to share the table with and give yourself time to enjoy it.
Planning a little more time in Valle? I’ve also shared a look at Montevalle and our drinks at Bloodlust.
