A Slower Valle de Guadalupe Getaway at Montevalle Resort & Spa

If your Valle de Guadalupe plans could use a little more pool time and a little less rushing between reservations, keep Montevalle Resort & Spa in mind.

This is the property I shared on Instagram, tucked into Baja California’s wine country. With private villas, spa amenities and Liebre restaurant on-site, it gives you a few ways to plan a slower getaway, whether you’re looking at an overnight stay or a day visit.

Room to slow down

Montevalle’s amenities include a pool and jacuzzi, a meditation labyrinth and a quiet room. There are tennis and pickleball courts, a gym and a putting course too, if a little movement sounds good between all that relaxing.

A pool afternoon and a meal can be enough of a plan here. That’s a nice option to have when the rest of your Valle trip already includes wineries and restaurant reservations.

Make room for Liebre

Liebre is the resort’s farm-to-table restaurant, with a focus on seasonal produce and locally sourced ingredients. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you can work a meal into whichever part of the day you’re visiting.

Meals are separate from the wellness packages. I’d make the restaurant reservation alongside the rest of the booking, especially if you’re planning a day visit and want everything to fit comfortably.

An afternoon escape or a few nights away

If you already have a place to stay in Valle, Montevalle’s One Day package includes a massage and four hours of amenity access. Check the available times and current inclusions with the resort when you reserve.

For a longer getaway, the villas let you make Montevalle your base. The property welcomes guests ages 18 and older, so this is one to save for an adults-only trip.

One arrival tip worth saving

Follow Montevalle’s directions when you reach the valley. The resort asks visitors to approach from Carretera Francisco Zarco and follow its signs, with the entrance across the road from El Cielo winery. It specifically advises against the Tierra Santa shortcut that some maps suggest.

Save that route before you set off, then leave yourself time to enjoy the slower side of Valle. A little space in the itinerary can be a very good thing.
