Brunch can be a Halloween plan, too. Werewolf in the Gaslamp had a Nightmare Before Christmas-inspired setup when I shared it in October, and the food gave me plenty to talk about alongside the decor.
The three things I highlighted were the fried Uncrustables, doughnut pancakes and breakfast burritos. So yes, there are sweet options, but you can absolutely make this a savory breakfast with a little something for the table.
The sweet dishes are hard to ignore
The PB&J dish is called Sans La Croûte on the menu. Werewolf describes it as a French-toast-style Uncrustable with donut icing and powdered sugar, and suggests ordering it as a side to share. If you have ever wanted your childhood lunchbox sandwich to become brunch, this is quite the upgrade.
Then there are the Doughnut Cakes: pancakes with raspberry jelly filling, glazed donut icing and sprinkles. Ordering something savory and splitting a sweet dish sounds like a good way to avoid having to choose just one side of the menu.
The breakfast burrito has eggs, bacon, jack cheese, guacamole, potatoes, cilantro and house sauce. There is also a Cali Burrito with steak and garlic fries if that is more your style.

Brunch now, karaoke later
Brunch runs daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., so you do not have to squeeze it into an already busy October weekend. Werewolf uses a digital brunch waitlist and sends a text when your table is getting close. It is a waitlist rather than a fixed reservation, so give yourself a little room in the schedule.
At night, the plan changes to karaoke. The posted schedule is every night from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., with no cover. You can decide whether your group is more interested in pancakes or picking a song.
Werewolf is at 627 Fourth Avenue. Have a look at the brunch menu before you go, and ask the restaurant about the seasonal display if the Nightmare Before Christmas decor is what you are going for.
